Family of Richard Swift issue statement explaining his cause of death
The US musician sadly passed away on 3 July despite efforts from close friends and family to launch a fundraising campaign to help with medical costs. The family of Richard Swift have issued a statement detailing his cause of death.
Secretly Canadian musician Richard Swift was known for his contributions to The Shins, The Arcs, and even performed alongside The Black Keys on tour from 2014-2015.
The family of the talented musician issued a statement detailing the cause of death, stating, "Yes, Richard Swift suffered from alcohol addiction, and it’s ultimately what took his life."
Swift was hospitalised in June aged 41 with what was first described as a "serious medical condition". The family have now revealed that, "He was diagnosed with hepatitis and liver and kidney distress in June."
His friends over at Secretly Canadian also published a enlightening memoir of the musician the same day he passed, wishing for all his fans to, "Finger paint with the blackest ink you can get your mitts into today."
