Raye reveals skittering Blood Diamonds collab "Tell Me"
17-year-old singer/songwriter Raye has revealed "Tell Me", a gorgeous new track with glitchy greatness.
Croydon-born Raye worked on the track with Grimes collaborator Blood Diamonds. Speaking about the experience, she says: "I had a session with Blood Diamonds. He tore up the production to this so fast and lyrically it fell the same. We really clicked. 'Tell Me' is just a cute lil R&B-ish love tune. About, you know, when you grow some way about someone, and you just wanna feel it reciprocated."
The skittering cut fuses smoggy The Weeknd-esque darkness with a clear-cut pop vocal that smacks of Rihanna. Lofty comparisons, perhaps, but its evident from her innate talents that Raye's gonna get elevated to bigger stages in the near future.
Speaking of stages, Raye is also set to play her debut headline date on 5 November at the George IV, Chiswick.
