RAYE reveals she's reached an agreement with Polydor Records to "part ways"
RAYE has given an update on her label situation after a dispute over the release of her debut album, and has revealed she has reached an agreement with Polydor Records to "part ways".
Earlier this month RAYE stepped back from social media after claiming her label wouldn't let her release her debut album despite signing a four-album deal in 2014, and today (19 July) RAYE has announced that she's "an independent artist".
In the new post on Instagram, RAYE wrote, "Polydor and I have spoken and we have agreed to part ways."
She thanked the label, calling Polydor an "incredible infrastructure power house team", and wrote, "unfortunately we have had different goals artistically and I am very grateful to them for giving me a graceful smooth exit to start my next chapter as an artist."
