Ray BLK returns with evocative new track "Run Run" accompanied by powerful visuals
The flourishing R&B singer Ray BLK is back with the hard-hitting "Run Run".
Ray BLK was crowned as BBC's Sound of 2017, and has since gone on to collaborate with some huge names, including Gorillaz, Kojo Funds, Naughty Boy and RAYE.
Now she's back with new single "Run Run", a truthful and insightful perspective of life growing up in South London.
The Catford singer/songwriter explained more about the track, “The stories from “Run Run” are real-life events that I have experienced. I wrote the song as a reminder to everyone listening, not to become a product of their environment. They have the choice to better themselves and rise above their struggles. Ultimately, I want my fans to know that there’s a big world out there with many opportunities and to believe in themselves.”
Alongside the single, the visuals directed by Tom Green (Misfits) provide an insight to the poverty and crime-ridden communities.
In the build-up to the single and video drop, Ray BLK shared her passion towards the video's core message.
The Run Run video has been my favourite to date because of the meaning behind it. These communities affected by crime and poverty need more attention and assistance from the government to create change. Looking forward to sharing Run Run with you all tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/UiPU58Lcez
