Rainer unveil new melodic deluge from debut record Water [Premiere]
Rebekah Raa and Nic Nell, also known as mystical pop twosome Rainer, are streaming new single "Water" exclusively on Best Fit.
The track is a striking balance between blissed-out synthpop and experimental tropical noise, using pitched percussion and clarinets among ultra-harmonied vocal lines and plodding dance beats. It's an intriguing exploration of their sound - something totally atypical that's as much a relation of Samaris as it is a relation of Theme Park. Jam in a few off-kilter time signatures and syncopated rhythms, and you're left with a piece of music that couldn't sound more wonderfully chaotic.
Water is out 18 May via Kissability/Algebra. It follows 2013's Hope/Satin/Glass/Dreams EP.
The band play Camden's The Stillery on 21 May to launch the record.
