Rainer announce debut LP Water, stream lead single "Nocturn"
London duo Rainer have announced the release of debut LP Water, and are streaming the lead single, "Nocturn".
The band - comprising Rebekah Raa and Nic Nell - originally created the skeleton of the track as a demo for use on Drake's second LP Take Care. Now firmly in their grasp, it signals a bold stride forwards for the twosome.
Speaking about the record, Raa says: “I write about love mainly, and the bizarre mixture of emotions that inevitably comes with falling in, being in or falling out of love. Writing is like a therapy through which I realise why I feel the way I do. Some of the songs have an uplifting message in them which is usually the point of realisation that I got to through writing.”
Nell, also known as producer Casually Here, added: "We both love big pop records as well as records you can just get lost in... so for the album we wanted to make something big but also intimate that takes you on a bit of a journey through its own world.”
Water is out 18 May via Kissability/Algebra. It follows 2013's Hope/Satin/Glass/Dreams EP.
