Radiohead's manager didn't announce their new album last night
Although Brian Message did speak a lot about the long-awaited ninth record - a June release date was supposedly on the cards - it turns out that Brian Message is not Radiohead's manager.
A statement from the band has emerged:
RADIOHEAD STATEMENT
At an industry event in London last night Brian Message was asked about new Radiohead music. Quotes attributed to him and taken from his talk have subsequently appeared, describing him as Radiohead's manager. Brian Message is not Radiohead's manager - he is a partner in Courtyard Management but plays no operational role, and therefore any quotes from last night's event, or any supposition arising from them, should not be attributed to Radiohead's management or be seen as official quotes on behalf of the group.
Radiohead are managed by Chris Hufford and Bryce Edge at Courtyard Management.
Much has changed behind the scenes recently, and the group are playing a lot of dates this summer for the first time in years, so perhaps Radiohead are gearing up for a June album birth? Or perhaps Message's words are just complete fabrications... who really knows when it comes to Radiohead?
Radiohead's last live performance was in November 2012, but have been steadily filling their diary with a slew of festival dates. Radiohead are headlining Iceland's Summer Solstice, Primavera, OpenAir St. Gallen, and more this summer.
The band's long-awaited ninth record, the follow up to 2011's The King Of Limbs, is expected to arrive this year.
