PWR BTTM return with new single "Projection", announce first-ever UK dates
Queer punk twosome PWR BTTM are serving up a triple helping of Excellent News: a new single ("Projection"), the UK release of Ugly Cherries, plus a UK/EU tour.
PWR BTTM are fucking excellent, and this new track is further proof - loud, ramshackle power-pop with emotion in spades and mind-bogglingly great guitars. Laurent Hrybyk has created the accompanying visuals.
Speaking about the track, the band's Ben Hopkins says: “‘Projection’ is a song about feeling unqualified to be the way you see yourself because of the way other people see you, and how other people’s perception of your identity can warp your sense of self. It’s about being exhausted with the pressure of fitting in and throwing a shiny, glorious middle finger to those who doubt you."
PWR BTTM are set to tour UK in December (for the first time ever) with four shows scheduled, including a 6 December date at London's Shacklewell Arms. They'll be playing with The Spook School on all dates.
Ugly Cherries sees release in the UK on 7 October via Big Scary Monsters. It'll come with two new tracks (including "Projection").
