Pussy Riot release new single "RAGE" and call for release of all Russian political prisoners
Pussy Riot have released their new single "RAGE", and have called for all Russian political prisoners to be freed after 13 people were detained on the video shoot last year.
About a year ago, Pussy Riot revealed that their "RAGE" music video shoot was shut down by Russian police, with them accusing the group of "gay propaganda" and "extremism", and cut off the electricity at the location to prevent them from carrying on.
In the description of the video, Pussy Riot wrote, "We have spent $15k on the video production, and that's been ruined by the cops today - because of the absurd "gay propaganda" law, and we'll be thankful if you share this info and/or be kind enough to help us to raise the money to make this video happen anyway."
Today (1 February), Pussy Riot have released their "RAGE" single, which includes a section at the end of the video that documents their interaction with the police during the music video shoot.
Pussy Riot wrote in the video description, "we demand the release of a Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny, Pussy Riot's Masha Alekhina, and all political prisoners, we ask the police to stop beating the protesters and stand together with us, we ask Putin and his team to leave the Kremlin ASAP."
They added on Twitter, "We demand Putin to release all political prisoners in Russia."
