Kari Jahnsen - the Norwegian-born, London-based musician behind Farao - said: "The Momentum funding is a tremendous help for me as an artist who is just about to release my debut album. It's a great scheme that really makes a difference for musicians who need a financial push to take their career to the next level."
Rapper/producer Little Simz added: "As an independent artist and label owner the Momentum Music Fund is a major helping hand for myself and my team. As we are working to inspire and to show a new generation of artists from the UK that they can make an impact on a global scale without having to sign to a major record label, funding like this is a huge part of making the journey to the end goal possible."
You can find out more about each artist and what exactly the funding will go towards over on the PRS website.
Spotify was recently announced as a partner for the fund, "extend[ing] Momentum’s impact, with an additional funding contribution, alongside a reward package containing exciting promotional opportunities. Momentum artists will enjoy a close relationship working with the Spotify team and will benefit from access to tools, features and best practices that will enable them to connect with Spotify's 60 million active users across 58 markets globally".
