Protests held against HBO Phil Spector biopic film
A group of protesters congregated yesterday outside of the Los Angeles Museum of Art to voice their opposition to HBO‘s upcoming biopic based on the life of Phil Spector.
Al Pacino is set to star as the lead role in an upcoming TV movie based on the life of the ‘Wall of Sound’ producer, with the film following Spector working with the likes of The Ronettes to his conviction for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.
It’s this latter part which the protesters take issue with, stating that the film implies that Clarkson in fact committed suicide.
The biopic, simply called Phil Spector, is set to air on 24 March. It follows on from the cable network’s Beyonce documentary which premiered in February and airs on BBC One at the end of the month.
