Princess Nokia signs to Rough Trade and drops new single "G.O.A.T."
Fast-rising rapper Princess Nokia has announced a new deal with Rough Trade and is celebrating with new track/video "G.O.A.T.".
The NYC native, real name Destiny Frasqueri, has already put out a handful of releases, including Metallic Butterfly, Honey Suckle, and 1992, and earned a reputation for magnetic live performances (we can vouch for the hearsay - we caught her in Barcelona and she was nothing short of amazing).
"My live show is a lotta fun," Nokia says. "I mean it's a real vibe - something out of this world... I have been playing sold out tours since I released the album on my website, I’ve gotta to say, I’m blessed. Every city has... a crowd of young kids that love my music... I have girls that cry and throw roses in the front. Straight men who come with their friends and scream every lyric from every song... I show up for them and rip that mic so they leave feeling inspired and happy, It’s a great time."
Nokia plays lots of UK/EU dates this summer, with festival slots confirmed in the UK, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Poland, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, and more. Check out the full list of her upcoming shows.
