Primavera Sound cancel 2020 festival due to COVID-19, tickets remain valid for 2021
Primavera Sound have released a statement cancelling this summer's festival due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and have stated that 2020 tickets will be valid for next year's event.
Barcelona's Primavera Sound 2020 festival was due to take place from 3-7 June at the city's Parc del Forum, but today (11 May), organisers have shared a statement cancelling the 2020 edition of the festival in light of the ongoing global pandemic.
They write in the statement, "Today, Primavera Sound announces the most difficult decision in its history: finally we will not be able to celebrate our 20th anniversary during 2020. In the face of the evolution of the COVID-19 health crisis, we find ourselves obliged to postpone the next edition of Primavera Sound Barcelona, for reasons of force majeure, until next year: from 2nd to 6th June 2021."
Organisers also state that ticketholders can keep hold of this year's tickets to use them next year, adding that they'll "include special benefits for those who decide to keep them."
People can request a refund from 3 June, and on the same day the first acts for 2021 will be announced.
