Preview Sia’s rendition of “Hard Knock Life” in trailer for forthcoming Annie remake
If you can even think about winter right now, there’s a new remake of Annie in the works that should be arriving in theaters around then. The remake features a re-tooled soundtrack from Australian singer/songwriter Sia, and you can now hear a preview of her take on “Hard Knock Life” in a new trailer for the film.
Sia is working with longtime collaborator Greg Kurstin on revamping the melodies and lyrics to the classic musical, and that’s most evident in this “Hard Knock Life” snippet from the swapping of “We get tricked” for “We get shit.”
Sia’s new album, 1000 Forms of Fear, is due out on 7 July via RCA/Monkey Puzzle Records. The Annie remake hits theaters on 6 February 2015 in the UK (19 December 2014 in the US). Check out “Hard Knock Life” in the trailer below.
