Postiljonen: "I think we've grown as songwriters and as musicians and artists."
Swedish dreampoppers Postiljonen are set to blow our minds at The Great Escape - we had a chat to find out what to expect.
Postiljonen perform on our stage tonight (19 May) at Brighton's Komedia stage. Bo Rocha, Highasakite, and Pumarosa are also playing - check out the full lineup.
Listen to their massive single "Go!" below, and read our catch up after.
How do you feel now that Reverie is out?
It's really nice that it's out, we've been having the release on hold for such a long time due to external factors, music biz stuff. But we feel good about it!
Looking back, is there anything you would've done differently?
Not really. I think you don't always have to overthink stuff. We made the album in Daniel's grandmother's cabin in the woods, so the album sort of reflects that time and place for us. It is what it is, in a kind of non-judgemental way.
What did you learn from the process?
Other than getting better at producing and all the technical things, I think we've grown as songwriters and as musicians and artists. As you do when you're creating something. And if that's a good or bad thing is hard to tell, you know, being more aware of your art.
What do you make of the reaction it received?
We really haven't read that much about it. Of course we read when people are posting and sending us reviews etc., but we haven't really actively Googled the album. As to comparison from our first album..
What should we expect from your Great Escape show?
Lots of love. Kisses and hugs. Come and dance!
Are you looking forward to seeing any other acts on the bill?
Yeah, we all love Shura. So that's a must!
What are you looking forward to this summer?
Beer, sun, boatrides, silence, festivals, islandhoppin', sand, swimming, barbeques and everything else that comes with the sun.
What's next for Postiljonen?
New music. Studiotime! Preferably in our cabin in the Swedish woods. Doing what we love the most - making new music.
