A portion of Pussy Riot's "PANIC ATTACK" NFT sales will benefit victims of domestic abuse in Russia
Pussy Riot have released their new single "PANIC ATTACK" today (11 March), which will also be released as four NFTs (Non-fungible tokens) this weekend, with a portion of NFT sales going towards a shelter for victims of domestic violence in Russia.
"PANIC ATTACK" is released today (11 March) alongside Pussy Riot's PANIC ATTACK EP, which also features last month's Dylan Brady-produced "TOXIC" track featuring Dorian Electra, and last week's "SEXIST" single featuring Hofmannita.
The new song is teamed with a Asad J. Malik-directed video that was produced by his hologram company Jadu. The video was shot on 106 cameras to capture Nadya Tolokonnikova from all angles.
Nadya Tolokonnikova says, "After serving two years in a labor camp, I'm still struggling with mental health issues. Trauma, fear and insecurity never fully go away, causing depression episodes and deep anxiety. "PANIC ATTACK" was born as the result of me staring at the wall for 24 hours in the middle of the pandemic, feeling 100% helpless. I was trying to write something uplifting to encourage people to get through the tough times. But I was just failing and failing. Magically, at the second I allowed myself to be honest and write about despair I was experiencing, I wrote the track in like a half an hour."
"PANIC ATTACK" will also be released as four NFTs this weekend (13 March). Proceeds from the NFT sales will be split between Pussy Riot (to fund their art) and a shelter for victims of domestic violence in Russia.
