Placebo return with first new single in five years "Beautiful James"
Placebo are back with their first new material in five years in the form of a new song titled "Beautiful James".
After teasing the release with an image of a billboard featuring the single title earlier this week, Placebo have released the full track, which marks their first new material in five years, following 2016's "Jesus' Son", which featured on their Life's What You Make It EP.
Lead vocalist Brian Molko says of the new release, "If the song serves to irritate the squares and the uptight, so gleefully be it. But it remains imperative for me that each listener discovers their own personal story within it - I really don’t want to tell you how to feel."
Back in May Placebo confirmed on socials that their eighth album was "finished" and "being primed for release". The album, which is yet to be announced, will follow 2013's Loud Like Love.
