After several months of dropping subtle hints, PJ Harvey has announced her first solo release since White Chalk. Released on 14 February, Let England Shake was recorded with long time collaborators John Parrish, Flood and former Bad Seeds member Mick Harvey.
What PJ Harvey’s ninth album has in store for us mostly remains a mystery, although she has said that the record will be quite “an uplifting experience,” in contrast to the haunting isolation of her almost gothic 2007 release.
With all the shows on Miss Polly Jean Harvey’s February tour now sold out, the singer has indicated she will be playing some festival dates in the near future.
