Pictish Trail unveils new single "Bad Algebra"
Pictish Trail has returned with his playful equation "Bad Algebra", lifted from his forthcoming album Thumb World.
"Bad Algebra" is the third single to be shared from Thumb World, after last month's "Turning Back" and September's "Slow Memories".
Discussing the new single, Pictish Trail says, ""Bad Algebra" is about how being in the company of certain people can make you feel more alone than if you were on your own. I think that’s true of a lot of relationships, and it can be a comforting thing as well as an isolating feeling. "You are my solitude, i’m never so alone by myself". There can be a tendency to analyse/scrutinise your own behaviour when in the company of another."
Pictish Trail's Thumb World album will be his first since 2017's Future Echoes.
The new record is produced and mixed by Rob Jones, and features string arrangements from Kim Moore, and drumming from Alex Thomas (Squarepusher, Anna Calvi, Air).
