French alt-rockers, Phoenix have revealed that they recorded their upcoming new album on the same mixing console used for Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
The forthcoming record, entitled Bankrupt, was even giving the original working name of Alternative Thriller.
The New Yorker says that Phoenix guitarist Laurent Brancowitz bought the equipment via Ebay from a Christian music studio in California.
“The most mysterious part to me was that no one else, no nerd or music engineer or memorabilia freak, seemed to want it,” the band’s singer Thomas Mars told the publication.
Bankrupt is due for release in April.
