Phoebe Waller-Bridge reportedly steps away from Mr. & Mrs. Smith series starring Donald Glover
Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge is reportedly no longer involved with Amazon's upcoming Mr. & Mrs. Smith series starring Donald Glover.
The Mr. & Mrs. Smith series, based on the 2005 film with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, was announced in February, and was set to star Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Glover and Waller-Bridge last worked together on 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story, with Glover starring as Lando Calrissian and Waller-Bridge as L3-37. The reboot was expected to be executive produced by Glover and Waller-Bridge, and was due for release next year.
Today The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Waller-Bridge is no longer involved in the series due to having a different creative vision for the series than Glover. The piece notes that the two remain friends, and Waller-Bridge's exit was "amicable".
Waller-Bridge's role will be recast, and the series is currently still on track for a 2022 release date, with production expected to start early next year.
