Phoebe Bridgers unveils new track "Sidelines"
Phoebe Bridgers is back with her first original track of 2022, "Sidelines", which was written for Hulu's Conversations with Friends series.
"Sidelines" is Bridgers' first new material as the lead artist since her 2020 album Punisher, and was written for Hulu's TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's Conversations with Friends book.
According to a press release, the new song was written with Marshall Vore and Ruby Rain Henley, and will be Bridgers' only original song of 2022.
This summer Bridgers' Punisher album celebrates its second birthday, and although she has been busy working with the likes of Bright Eyes, Christian Lee Hutson, Harrison Whitford, MUNA and Taylor Swift, and covering songs by Billie Eilish and Bo Burnham, "Sidelines" will mark her first release as the lead artist since 2020's Punisher.
Last month Bridgers and Bright Eyes covered Elliott Smith's "St. Ides Heaven".
