Phoebe Bridgers shares own abortion story and encourages donations to abortion funds
Phoebe Bridgers has opened up about her own abortion in 2021 following a leaked report that suggests the US Supreme Court is in favour of overturning the right to abortion, and has encouraged donations to pro-choice organisations.
Many musicians including Halsey, Cher, Questlove, Steven Van Zandt, Diane Warren, and others have shared their reactions online after a leaked report emerged that suggested the US Supreme Court may vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, a landmark 1973 ruling that legalised abortion nationwide.
Phoebe Bridgers, who has previously donated proceeds from songs and encouraged donations to pro-choice organisations in the US, also shared her reaction, opening up about her own abortion that she had while on tour in October 2021.
Bridgers wrote, "I had an abortion in October of last year while I was on tour. I went to planned parenthood where they gave me the abortion pill. It was easy. Everyone deserves that kind of access. Here’s a big list of places you can donate to right now."
