Phoebe Bridgers covers Conor Oberst's "Mamah Borthwick (A Sketch)" to support LA's Bootleg Theater
Phoebe Bridgers has shared a cover of Conor Oberst's Ruminations track "Mamah Borthwick (A Sketch)", while encouraging fans to donate to The Bootleg Theater in LA.
The Bootleg Theater in LA is where Oberst and Bridgers first met, prior to their Better Oblivion Community Center project.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the independent venue following the coronavirus pandemic, and musicians are getting involved with the #CoverTheBootleg hashtag on Instagram to encourage donations.
Bridgers decided to cover Oberst's Ruminations song "Mamah Borthwick (A Sketch)", and writes, "The Bootleg is raising money to pay their employees and hopefully keep the doors open once this is over. Here’s me singing a Conor song because I met him there. It’s a special place. Help out if you can."

Musicians that frequently go to the Bootleg Theater have also uploaded their own covers to support the venue and encourage donations, including Harrison Whitford and his cover of Bette Midler's "I Think It's Going To Rain Today", Christian Lee Hutson's ABBA "Dancing Queen" cover, and Sofia Wolfson's version of Olivia Kaplan's "Barely Above".
