Philip Glass to debut new symphony on his 80th birthday

Philip Glass, one of the most vital composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, is set to debut a new symphony on his 80th birthday.
Glass will be premiering Symphony No. 11 on 31 January 2017 at New York City's Carnegie Hall. The entire evening will be dedicated to Glass' works, with performances of Days and Nights in Rocinha and Angelique Kidjo collaboration Ifé: Three Yorùbá Songs.
Bruckner Orchestra Linz are performing the music, with Kidjo making an appearance on vocals.
