Pet Shop Boys return with new single "Monkey business"
Pet Shop Boys are back with new single "Monkey business", the third single to be shared from their forthcoming album Hotspot.
The radio edit of "Monkey business" is released today (3 January), and arrives after previous Hotspot singles "Burning the heather" and "Dreamland".
Pet Shop Boys will release the full "Monkey business" single on 7 February alongside some remixes of the track.
Their forthcoming album Hotspot will be their first since 2016's Super. It's produced and mixed by Stuart Price, and was largely written and recorded between Berlin and LA.
Speaking about their new LP, Pet Shop Boys explain, "We’ve written much of our music over the last ten years in Berlin and it was an exciting experience to work on this album in the legendary Hansa studios there and add a new dimension to our sound."
Neil Tennant of the duo stuttered on BBC Radio 2 earlier today when host Nicki Chapman questioned Tennant on their tour schedule for this year, and stated, "Talking of live work, you're going to be touring the UK later this year... I can't see Somerset down there... you know I'm thinking perhaps Glastonbury." Tennant replied, "Somerset, um of course Glastonbury is in Somerset..."
