Pearl Jam unveil first Gigaton single "Dance of the Clairvoyants"
Pearl Jam have dropped "Dance of the Clairvoyants", the first single to be shared from their upcoming album Gigaton.
Having revealed their Gigaton album tracklist on Monday (20 January), Pearl Jam have followed up their album details with the LP's first single "Dance of the Clairvoyants".
Pearl Jam's bassist Jeff Ament says of the new single, "I can’t tell you how proud I am about this group of songs. As you know, we took our time and that benefited us taking more chances. "Dance [of the Clairvoyants"] was a perfect storm of experimentation and real collaboration, mixing up the instrumentation and building a great song, and Ed writing some of my favorite words yet, around Matt’s killer drum pattern. Did I mention Mike’s insane guitar part and that Stone is playing bass on this one? We’ve opened some new doors creatively and that’s exciting."
Gigaton will be Pearl Jam's first new album in seven years, after 2013's Lightning Bolt.
Speaking about their 11th studio LP, Pearl Jam's Mike McCready says, "Making this record was a long journey. It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times."
