Due for release on 6 February, the new, currently untitled, album from Paul McCartney will feature two new tracks entitled ‘Only Our Hearts’ and ‘My Valentine’ as well as a selection of classic standards that have inspired his work. Recorded throughout this year at Capitol Studios in New York, London and Los Angeles the album’s full track listing and title will be revealed soon but so far we do know it will feature guest appearances from the likes of Stevie Wonder and Eric Clapton.
Speaking recently, McCartney explained that the album has been some 20 years in the making: “In the end it was ‘Look, if I don’t do it now, I’ll never do it,” he commented before hinting at what we might expect to see on the track list “I always thought artists like Fred Astaire were very cool. Writers like Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, all of those guys – I just thought the songs were magical. And then, as I got to be a songwriter I thought it’s beautiful, the way they made those song”.
