Patrick Watson shares new single "Melody Noir" with self-directed visuals
Patrick Watson's first single in 2018 is the charming "Melody Noir", that is accompanied by Watson's self-directed visuals.
Following on from his last single "Broken", that arrived late last year, Watson is taking his time in perfecting his new material.
"This song was inspired by an incredible singer from Venezuela, Simon Diaz. I was so inspired by his music I had to write a tune,” explains Watson, “It’s a love song dedicated to the hole inside of you.”
Filmed in Montréal, Watson teamed up with Brigitte Poupart on the monochrome video that was inspired by the film I Am Cuba.
Speaking about the video, Watson explained, "I wanted to make a sensual but surreal dance video, where the main character slowly gets eaten by a void, embodied by the other dancers. The dancers are a wonderful Colombian dance troupe who bring a mix of classical and modern elements to the piece."
