Panda Bear debuts new cut "Token" with visuals directed by Dean Blunt
Panda Bear's latest single is the trippy "Token", which arrives with visuals following musician Dean Blunt as he enjoys a night at the fairground.
"Token" is the second single to be released from Panda Bear's forthcoming sixth record Buoys, having revealed "Dolphin" back in November 2018.
Noah Lennox's new single arrives with a Dean Blunt-directed video, which also stars the musician, following him around a vibrant fairground.
The opening sequence details the humorous original plan for Blunt's visuals, "When Dean got asked to do this video he was all good...he had plans to make something about Toy Story...then something about cowboys and cowgrrrls...then something about being a token, then something else...then he lost his f***ing mind...LITERALLY. He can't even remember his songs anymore. So we decided to scrap all the stuff he had planned and try to make him have some fun and smile. Please wish Dean good luck with his recovery. xx"
Buoys is co-produced and co-mixed with longtime collaborator Rusty Santos. They recorded the album in Lennox's adopted home of Lisbon, Portugal. The two last collaborated on Panda Bear's Person Pitch album, which turned 10 in 2017.
Buoys will follow his 2017 vinyl-only EP A Day With The Homies, and features contributions from Chilean DJ/vocalist Lizz, and Portuguese musician Dino D'Santiago. Lennox's last album was 2015's Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper. He also released a surprise five-track EP the same year.
