PADDOX (ex-Trophy Wife) to release concrete-clad debut LP Aphrodisiaque
Ever wanted to buy a record enveloped in silky smooth, luxurious... erm, concrete? Well, now PADDOX are here to make that bizarre fantasy a reality.
PADDOX are cultivators of avante-garde techno, Kompakt-esque noise and ambient soundscapes, formed around Kit Monteith, ex-drummer for Trophy Wife.
They will release their debut record Aphrodisiaque 1 December through Bear on A Bicycle Records and One Note Forever. It will feature casing made from 3kg of concrete moulded in 3D printed shapes. It was co-designed with Francesco Miniati.
Expanding upon the record's intentions, a press release notes:
"The band perceives Aphrodisiaque to be a genre in its own right. Aphrodisiaque is any piece of music sympathetic to an ambient vision of the act of love. The album’s six tracks listed as ‘Aphrodisiaque #001’ through to ‘Aphrodisiaque #006’."
PADDOX will perform Aphrodisiaque in full at an album launch 29 November at the Old Fire Station, Oxford.
