Overcoming storms, Black Deer Festival closes on a high
Van Morrison and The Dead South closed this year's Black Deer Festival last night, after a precarious weather situation threatened the festival the previous day.
Saturday's headliners The Waterboys saw their set cut after storms resulted in all music being put on half but Sunday saw better weather as the festival glided into its third day. By 8pm everyone flocked to the main stage to see Van Morrison deliver a headline set, belting classics such as "Brown Eyed Girl", "Days Like This" and "Broken Record" with his trademark swagger and arrogance. The Dead South closed off proceedings with their raucous approach to roots music.
