Our Girl, Baywaves and Bigott take to La Plaza en Verano in partnership with Best Fit Club, Madrid
Best Fit Club made a welcome return to the Spanish capital, bringing Best Fit favourites to cultural centre Matadero as part of the La Plaza en Verano series of summer concerts.
Having previously played host to the likes of The Orielles, Dream Wife and Blaenoven, the Best Fit Club night brought another evening of new music to Madrid on Friday night, taking over La Plaza en Verano for the evening.
Rising Madrid-based band Baywaves kicked off the night's proceedings, bringing their sun-drenched melodies to the cultural hub, drawing in an extensive crowd and ensuring that everyone was suitably warmed up.
Our Girl were next to take to the stage for their first ever show in Madrid. Lead singer Soph Nathan - who you may know from The Big Moon - was in excellent spirits, commanding the stage with an effortless presence as her impressive guitar skills were put on full display. The band expertly worked through a set that was based around songs from their recently released debut album Stranger Today which came out last month.
The evening was headlined by Spanish cult icon Bigott who brought his eclectic, feel-good vibes to the open-air event. Eccentric and endlessly fun, Bigott worked through a summery set of his best-loved songs, delighting the crowd with every move he made.
La Plaza en Verano is a series of free, outdoor, open-air shows held at Matadero Madrid. An ex-slaughterhouse, the huge venue is now offers an extensive range of cultural events such as concerts and film screenings, whilst also providing a space for artists to create.
