New York's iconic Woodstock festival will return to the original site for a three-day celebration marking its 50th anniversary.

A dairy farm in Bethel was home to Woodstock back in 1969, where over 400,000 festival goers watched Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Janis Joplin, Crosby, Stills & Nash (and Young), and many more perform. The same site will hold a three-day celebration next summer, 50 years on from the iconic festival.

Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival is expected to host a series of live performances, special exhibitions, and TED-style talks.

Attendees will be able to visit the Museum in Bethel Woods, which gives a history of the festival through the media, artifacts, and more.

Darlene Fedun, CEO of Bethel Woods, says, "Fifty years ago, people gathered peacefully on our site inspired to change the world through music. As the stewards of this historic site, we remain committed to preserving this rich history and spirit, and to educating and inspiring new generations to contribute positively to the world through music, culture, and community.”

The 50th anniversary celebration lineup hasn't been announced yet, but is confirmed to take place from 16-18 August 2019. Find out more.
