OMD cancel all remaining tour dates for 2013 after drummer is hospitalised for heat exhaustion
OMD, otherwise known as Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, have announced that they’ve been forced to scrap their remaining live dates for the rest of the year after their drummer was taken ill in Toronto recently.
The electronic music veterans, who released their most recent record English Electric during April, made the announcement on Facebook over the weekend, writing:
“We are sorry to inform you that Malcolm was taken ill during last nights [7/20] show in Toronto. He’s currently being treated for heat exhaustion in hospital but is recovering well. Sadly however we have to cancel the remaining shows of the year (including Rewind festival). Please accept our sincere apologies, we really appreciate your understanding at this very difficult time. We will give you more news on Malcolm as and when.”
OMD had been embarking on a world tour to mark the group’s 35th anniversary.
