Ólafur Arnalds has released his live performance film When We Are Born, alongside sharing new song "Saudade" from the upcoming soundtrack.
"Saudade" is a new song that features on Arnalds' When We Are Born soundtrack alongside music from his 2020 album Some Kind Of Peace, and is released today (5 July) ahead of the full soundtrack arriving on Friday (9 July).
When We Are Born is a live performance film directed by Vincent Moon and filmed in Iceland last summer, and tells a story that's partly based on Arnalds' life. The film is, according to the description in the trailer, about "how we connect - not only to each other, but also the world around us".
Ólafur Arnalds' "Saudade" and When We Are Born are both out now. The full soundtrack for When We Are Born will be released on Friday (9 July). He'll play London's Eventim Apollo on 24 September. Visit olafurarnalds.com for tickets.
