of Montreal announce new album with lead single "Marijuana’s a Working Woman"
of Montreal are back with news of their upcoming album Freewave Lucifer fck, and have shared new cut "Marijuana's a Working Woman" as the lead outing.
"Marijuana's a Working Woman" marks of Montreal's first new outing since last year's I Feel Safe With You, Trash album, and arrives with a animated video by Madeline Babuka Black.
Pitchfork reports that lead vocalist Kevin Bones said of the track, "Like all the songs on the album, this one was informed by pandemic isolation and the psychological struggle inherent in that kind of existence. The lyrics are a free flowing collage of all that I was perceiving and absorbing during that time period. I swapped alcohol for weed midway through the pandemic and that is what the title of the song refers to."
