Normani says she's "continuously working towards finishing" her album in lockdown
Normani has shared an update on her highly-anticipated debut album, revealing she's been "continuously working towards finishing" it during the coronavirus lockdown.
Singer Normani is yet to release an album, despite having gained a global audience from her huge "Motivation" single. Since then she's worked with Megan Thee Stallion, and Dua Lipa confirmed that Normani features on an unreleased track, that she might be releasing sooner rather than later.
In a new interview with Harpers Bazaar US, Normani has discussed what she's been doing during the global pandemic, and gives a little update on her debut LP.
When asked where she wants to go first when the lockdown is lifted, Normani replies, "I would definitely have to say the studio (and possibly Salt & Straw). I've been working and recording in the confines of my home, but nothing truly compares to being in the physical presence of my friends and feeling each other's energy. I'm also a super-introvert and just might have a problem with leaving my home once this is all over. I literally wake up, go to the kitchen, record, go to the kitchen, have my yoga session, write to a beat that I love, and go to the kitchen."
The interviewer goes on to ask who she's quarantined with and how they support each other. Normani says she's in lockdown with her "mother and grandmother", and adds, "I can't begin to tell you how many Zoom meetings and margarita nights I've attended". As well as FaceTiming her father every day, Normani adds, "I'm also continuously working towards finishing my album. It's been really exciting for me to randomly play my new records for all my cousins while in our group chats."
