Normani hopes to release a single from her debut album by summer
Normani has revealed that she hopes to release a single from her highly-anticipated debut album by summer.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Normani spoken a bit about her debut album.
The former Fifth Harmony member revealed she's about half way through making her debut LP, and hopes to release the first single by the time summer hits.
Discussing the control she has over her solo music compared to when she was in Fifth Harmony, Normani says, "I want to be able to feel like I was represented in the most authentic way possible because I know what it feels like coming from a girl group and being told who to be. [It’s] just overwhelming now to have the opportunity to be all that I want to be."
Normani says of her approach to songwriting, "I feel like I’m not the most open person. I want every girl out there to feel like I’m going through the same thing."
Earlier this month Normani was announced as one of the guest judges for season 12 of RuPaul's Drag Race, alongside Robyn, Nicki Minaj, Jeff Goldblum, and more.
Last night (27 February), Normani posted a clip from the studio which revealed she's working with Pharrell.
