Normani gives update on debut album
Normani has shared an update on her highly-anticipated debut album in a new interview.
Normani fans have been eagerly waiting for her debut album since her huge "Motivation" single. Since then she's worked with Megan Thee Stallion, and Dua Lipa confirmed that Normani features on an unreleased track.
The last update Normani gave on her debut LP was in May, when she told Harpers Bazaar US that she had been "continuously working towards finishing my album" during lockdown.
For the new Teen Vogue cover story, Normani speaks about her album, saying it will "be an opportunity for the public to be able to get to know me in a way that they haven’t been able to before."
Although she isn't sharing a release date or title for the album yet, Normani did tell Teen Vogue that she's "close", adding, "When God tells me that it’s done, then it’ll be done. I’ll feel it, you know?"
Elsewhere in the piece, Normani reveals that she wants to give people more than just music, "Honestly, for me, it’s bigger than the music. As much as I love what I do, I want to change lives and I want to reach as many people as I can. I feel like that’s the difference between doing something that you love and also having purpose. I want to tell our stories and, like I said, be a representation that Black girls can do anything...I feel like it’s my calling."
