Noga Erez reunites with partner ROUSSO on new cut "Story"
Noga Erez has reunited with ROUSSO on new cut "Story", the fifth track to be shared from her forthcoming second album KIDS.
"Story" marks Noga Erez's second outing of 2021, following January's "End of the Road", and will feature on KIDS alongside last year's singles "You So Done", "NO news on TV" and "VIEWS".
Erez says of the song, "Everyone brings their past experiences to the relationship even if things are great. Sometimes past situations come in and take over."
She adds of the Indy Hait-directed video, "ROUSSO is my partner in music as well as my partner in life. This is the first time we tell a story about our relationship in a song and video. It’s a song about a couple fighting and how, in that situation, sometimes what you hear the other person say is not what they actually said. The making of this video was a 10-day couples therapy session for us. As we rehearsed the pretend fighting and martial arts moves we knew that, at times, one of us would get punched just a little too hard. It was so intense and interesting to live in this world, where our relationship comes alive in the most physical way."
KIDS will be Noga Erez's second album, following her 2017 debut LP Off The Radar.
She says of KIDS, "These are songs about what we inherit from past generations, how we pass things on. How this game of evolution of our culture and humanity is very much in our hands. We were all somewhat a blank page at some point. KIDS talks about humanity’s potential for both beauty and destruction."
Noga Erez adds, "The world is a messy place. I’m not backing off from the politics of Off The Radar. KIDS is political, because nowadays, everything is political – even deciding not to get involved. KIDS is reflective of the time in which it was made."
