No Joy release trippy new cut "Four"
No Joy have shared "Four" as the third preview of their first album in five years, Motherhood.
"Four" is the third single to be lifted from Motherhood, after earlier outings "Nothing Will Hurt" and "Birthmark". Lead singer and principal songwriter Jasmine White-Gluz says it's "perhaps my favorite No Joy song ever written."
The new release also arrives with a video directed by Jodi Heartz, which is centred around indigenous makeup artist Ashley Diabo. No Joy are also encouraging fans to donate to Canadian Roots Exchange, Native Women’s Association Of Canada, True North Aid and Unist’ot’en Camp.
Motherhood is the first new No Joy LP since 2015's More Faithful, and saw White-Gluz work with co-producer Jorge Elbrecht (Ariel Pink, Sky Ferreira, Japanese Breakfast). Madeleine Campbell and former Death Cab For Cutie guitarist Chris Walla worked as engineers on the album.
