Nilüfer Yanya debuts new song "Day 7" during NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert
Nilüfer Yanya performed a new song called "Day 7" during her NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert that was revealed yesterday (22 July).
Yesterday (22 July), NPR released their latest Tiny Desk (Home) Concert, which features a four-track performance from Nilüfer Yanya.
Nilüfer Yanya performed three tracks from her 2019 debut LP Miss Universe - "Heat Rises", "Paralysed" and "Heavyweight Champion of the Year" - as well as debuting a new song called "Day 7".
During her performance, Yanya also revealed that racial injustice has been on her mind recently, "One of the things that's been on my mind a lot is the racism and violence and injustice going on towards Black people and people of color, not only in America but here in the U.K. and all over the world. As a person of mixed heritage, this issue is something close to my heart."
Her Tiny Desk (Home) Concert is her second performance for NPR, after performing a Tiny Desk Concert with a live band in September 2019.
In October 2019, Yanya released an alternative version of "Heat Rises", called "H34T RISES".
