Nils Frahm announces second Encores EP with 12-minute track "Spells"
Nils Frahm has announced the second instalment of his Encores EPs, accompanied by his sprawling 12-minute new track "Spells".
The composer's Encores EPs are an expansion of his January All Melody record.
Encores 2 delivers the ambient melodies from his session recordings, compared to his Encores 1 EP that focuses on his piano and harmonium instrumentals.
To accompany news of his upcoming EP, Frahm has revealed the ambient and expansive 12-minute track "Spells".
The second Encores EP was recorded through an amplified stone well that Frahm found on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
Expanding on his Encores releases, Frahm explains, "The idea behind Encores is one we had from before All Melody; to do three releases each with their own distinct musical style and theme, perhaps even as a triple album. But All Melody became larger than itself and took over any initial concepts.”
