Nile Rodgers says Daft Punk collaboration was like they “belonged together”
Daft Punk announced their long-awaited and much-rumoured new album over the weekend, revealing that the likes of Chilly Gonzales, Panda Bear and Nile Rodgers will feature on it.
Now the latter musician has come out to speak a bit about what to expect. Talking to inthemix, Rodgers called the album “smoking” while describing his part on it as a very natural process.
He told the publication:
“It was from the heart, it was like it was meant to be. It was a perfect collaboration, and I bet that’s what they are going to say. It was like we belonged together. We met in the middle; ‘collaboration’ is the perfect word.”
Rodgers also confirmed that his guitar lines were used in the recent adverts the electronic duo have been teasing.
The new record, Random Access Memories will be released on 21 May via their own Daft Life Limited, an imprint of Columbia Records.
