Nile Rodgers given “all clear” from prostate cancer
Chic guitarist and recent Daft Punk collaborator, Nile Rodgers has revealed he’s fully recovered from his cancer scare a few years back.
The musician was diagnosed with prostate cancer in October 2010 “right out of the clear blue sky”, but now he’s taken to Twitter to reveal that he’s in the “clear”.
Referring to a “cancer blog” he had been keeping, Rodgers recently wrote on the social networking site: ”Instead of showing gross internal video I’ll show my doctor’s fly examination room. I’M ALL CLEAR AGAIN.”
Nile Rodgers had previously spoken of how his ill-health has motivated him musically, being quoted as saying “I decided I was going to work as much as I could, play as many concerts, do as many records, because that’s what I live for.”
Rodgers scored a number 1 album and single earlier this year with Daft Punk in the form of Random Access Memories and lead cut ‘Get Lucky’.
