Niki & The Dove set to record second album in New York
Swedish duo Niki & The Dove are set to relocate to New York this autumn for the recording of their second album.
The Scandi electro-pop act, consisting of Gustaf Karlöf and Malin Dahlström, have revealed to NME that they are planning work on the follow-up to this year’s debut Instinct.
Gustaf told the magazine:
“We’re going to the States to do a support tour with Twin Shadow until the middle of October and after that we plan on staying in the States, in New York, and living there for a couple of months and writing new material.”
Continuing:
“We don’t really feel like the type of band who need a certain environment to write, we could do it in a dark room with no windows if need be, but if you can go to New York you should. We can meet new people and do new collaborations.”
“I hope we can progress and I hope that we can keep the heart in it. I want to make something honest and without the pressure of anything else.”
Instinct came out in May on Sub Pop/Mercury.
