NIKI drops new "Split" single from upcoming 88rising album Head In The Clouds 3
88rising's NIKI has unveiled new single "Split", which will appear on the label's upcoming Head In The Clouds 3 album.
"Split" is NIKI's first release since contributing "Every Summertime" to the Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings soundtrack, and is teamed with a Sean Matsuyama-directed video that's shot entirely on Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
NIKI said of the new outing, "I wrote it about having to split myself between Indo and LA and feeling like I have to constantly “split the difference”/ adapt/ assimilate all the time. It’s a song about home and identity or maybe the struggle to find either. It’s very very personal and I hope you guys love it as much as I do!"
The song will appear on 88rising's upcoming Head In The Clouds 3 album, which will follow 2019's Head In The Clouds II.
