Nike granted restraining order to stop Satan Shoes from being shipped; MSCHF only have one pair left
A US District Court Judge has granted Nike a temporary restraining order to stop MSCHF's Satan Shoes made in collaboration with Lil Nas X from being shipped, but it turns out MSCHF only have one pair that haven't been shipped yet.
Last Friday (26 March), Lil Nas X returned with his highly-anticipated new single "MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)", and launched a limited run of 666 Nike Air Max 97s featuring a Pentagram made in partnership with streetwear company MSCHF.
The 'Satan Shoes' are also allegedly injected with a single drop of human blood, and upon release, the shoes - priced at $1,018 to match the bible verse Luke 10:18 - sold out in under a minute.
Nike then filed a lawsuit earlier this week over the shoes, which has led to US District Court Judge Eric Komitee granting Nike a temporary restraining order to stop the Satan Shoes from being shipped, Stereogum reports.
This afternoon, The Verge noted that although the temporary restraining order has been granted, MSCHF has said that the 666th pair of the Satan Shoes are the only pair to have not been shipped yet.
MSCHF’s attorneys wrote in a response to the Nike lawsuit, "Contrary to Nike’s speculation in its papers, all but one pair of the shoes already have been sold and shipped. MSCHF has no intention of issuing additional Satan Shoes."
