Nicolás Jaar donates part of his personal vinyl collection to Italian bar to give away for free
Chilean-American composer Nicolás Jaar has donated a selection of his personal vinyl collection to an Italian bar that is giving away his records for free.
Yesterday (11 January), it was revealed that Nicolás Jaar had donated a large quantity of his personal vinyl collection to ISOLA bar in Turin, North Italy.
According to la Repubblica, Jaar moved to Turin recently to live and work on new music.
With festivals, clubs and live music not taking place due to the coronavirus pandemic, Jaar decided to give part of his personal vinyl collection to ISOLA, who have been giving away his records for free to people who have visited the bar.
The ISOLA bar/restaurant/tattoo studio, according to la Repubblica, is a hub for artists and cultural promoters, with the Club To Club festival venue nearby.
ISOLA shared an image of Jaar's boxes of vinyl records via their Instagram on Sunday (10 January), writing, "What a special day! Today our friend Nicolás Jaar left to us part of his personal records collection. Come here and pick up your favourites for free! Everyday, starting tomorrow, 11:30 [am]/ 6:00 pm."
